Our Vision:  Students who frequent the Media Center enjoy literature and are information literate. They independently practice inquiry & research skills and are adept at using new technologies to understand and communicate ideas.  As adults, they build upon school experiences to continue to enrich their lives.

 

The Great Michigan Read of 2010 Program:

Stealing Buddha's Dinner

This book is available to all BAHS English Freshmen!

 

"A memoir chronicaling the author's migration from Vietnam in 1975 and her coming of age in Grand Rapids, Michigan in the 1980's. "Along the way, she struggles to construct her own cultural identity from a menagerie of uniquely American influences. The book was selected by a group of nearly 50 librarians, teachers, students, professors, authors & others from all corners of the state."

 

This program is made possible by a book grant & free materials from the

 Michigan Humanities Council.  (http://www.michiganhumanities.org/)

 

 Extra copies are available for loan to  students & staff of BAHS.
